Well, there's many nightmarish scenarios in the world.

Actually, the cremation scenario above is probably one of the least nightmarish - that oven runs at about 2,000C if memory serves, that sort of temperature would kill you very quickly. Now if you are buried in the ground while still alive - you will suffocate for sure but that is not going to be a quick and easy death.
