Elections in Brazil and the resurgence of fascism

Former President Lula Ignacio Da Silva, in prison without evidence. With extremely high levels of popularity. The stablishment does not forgive.

Although this project is almost exclusively aimed at providing news on Argentine politics, this is an extraordinary situation. Brazil's elections have an immense impact on regional economies and policies throughout South America.

Brazilian democracy is going through a terminal crisis, long since its president was hand-picked. After the incredible and unfounded dismissal of Dilma Rousseff, Brazilian democracy received a deep blow. Under (public) pressure from top military commanders and the subsequent imprisonment without evidence of Ignacio Lula Da Silva, the wound was fatal. The participation of the military in this soft coup takes us back to the darkest moments of South American history in the 20th century.

  • "I'd rather lose my son in an accident than he becomes homosexual."
  • "Women should be paid less than men because they get pregnant."
  • "The problem with dictatorships was that they tortured but didn't kill."
  • "The average African American weighs less than 80 kilos, it's not good for procreation or work."

Although it sounds unreal in the times we live in, these phrases were expressed by the current candidate of the extreme right for the presidency of the Federative Republic of Brazil, associated with military dictatorships. All the polls, however, have it with the highest percentage of voting intention. In this regard I want to make a clarification that perhaps not everyone knows, the polls do not always have the usefulness of measuring the electoral climate but rather of influencing public opinion. It is proven that the electorate tends to sympathize with the winner, the causes of this can be varied, but they create acceptance and implant the doubt "If everyone does it, maybe we should give it a chance" although this psychological analysis is nothing more than a personal appreciation, but the effectiveness of manipulating the polls is a proven fact. Many ghost NGOs are the makers of these fictitious surveys that are used as a reference by the media as if their origin were that of a serious institution. But, even so, thanks to an enormous shield from the media (owned by the Brazilian aristocracies) a dark and dark being like Bolsonaro has the possibility of presiding over the largest economy in the region.

A little context is always appropriate to analyze a political situation based on the history of the country in question. In this case, the conservative right does not want someone like Bolsonaro (extreme right and openly fascist) to have the power, but the popularity of this party is in absolute decadence, they are taking anti-popular measures with an enormous political cost. The completely unnecessary and unfounded dismissal of Dilma Rousseff imposed on the presidency of Brazil a subject who carried with less than 5% of voting intention. This led Brazil to a major delay in terms of democracy and labor rights, seeking to recover the old agro-export model, destroying local economies and industry. It failed to do the same in the 1990s. Even if we put it in historical perspective, the only government that managed to place Brazil in a privileged position in the world economy was the PT (Workers Party) government under the presidency of Ignacio Lula Da Silva. Among other achievements, Brazil became one of the largest economic powers in the world, also increasing the quality of life of its inhabitants.

"They will never forgive a president who put a plate of food on the table of every poor person" today in prison, without ANY proof and before the pressure of an army threatening (PUBLICALLY) with a coup d'etat if Lula continued free, we could say that he was right, they could not forgive him. Despite the claims of the United Nations, they did not allow Lula to present himself as a candidate (with 45% of voting intention) and the cost of the removal of Dilma Rousseff, left the Brazilian right very much in evidence and their candidate does not pass the 5% of voting intention. All of Lula's legacy resides in Hadad's back, whom Lula points out as the continuation of his country model, which focused on industrialization and increasing the quality of life of its inhabitants.

LOL they're playing the bipartisan game.
Bolsonaro ain't no good but neither was Lula's flawed socialism.
You people should question the legitimacy of this "elected" rulers.
Representative democracy is obsolete.

Well, its a point of view. Because as i say on the post, Lula place Brazil on the world map as a top 10 economy in the world. Plus about become part of the BRICS in 2014

if you think Lula is comparable with a open fascist candidate i have to disagree...

Also, being in prission without any law fundaments by the stablishment, local aristocracy and military power makes me think my analysis is kinda solid.

But thanks for comment and share your point of view!
