The Struggle Of Land And Water Protection Is Very Important!

in #news5 years ago (edited)

It's a big deal what's going on lately. The Trudeau government and LNG Canada is trying to force a pipe line through unceded First Nations clan territory. The company isn't even Canadian, it's owned in a large part by China, Malaysia and Korea. Military style police went down there and forcefully removed 14 people at a road block made to stall the advancement of police and the Coastal Gas Link workers. A movement of support has built momentum ever since for the Land/Water protectors. There is a whole story there so you will have to do your own research. Here are a few more links having to do with recent news. It's really opening peoples eyes to the brutal tactics used by industry on peaceful people who have title to the land in the name of money and fracked gas fuel.

This has really put into question the words put out by government statements about reconciliation for First Nations. Many feel because of this military style action that there is no real reconciliation going on in Canada right now. Bullying and Kidnapping Does Is NOT Equal To Reconciliation!! Now the gas company is putting out it's own propaganda news. The NDP in Alberta had there own propaganda campaign about how pipelines are good for the workers of Canaduh and the economy. Many news stories addressing this issue call the people protecting their land and water 'protesters' to make them seem like an angry mob. They are not. They call themselves Land Protectors and Water Protectors. I would like to see a shift where people no longer call them protestors or extremist. This is a huge issue and people need to learn about it.

Here are some more articles of news.

The company is brutal and uses very dirty and disrespectful tactics.

Many so called pro-pipeline people are trying to 'fight for oil and gas. Just learned the Calgary Flames hockey team is putting that I love Canadian oil and gas logo onto their home ice!

So yea it's turned into one hell of a early 2019!! This movement has helped impassion me to remember my core values. In the territory in question there is a river which bears salmon! That is very important! That is why they do not want fracking gas in a pipeline anywhere near there! I saw first hand how First Nations were treated when a pristine river on a prominent salmon run was poisoned by a foreign mining company!! It was a brutal disaster! Destroying ecosystems like that is cultural genocide!! Greed from these companies must be stopped. They cannot continue to be allowed to do this!!

I'm glad I could get into this a bit more tonight. The more research and the more I write about this and go over the more I understand. The better I will know how to communicate what is important here and what is at stake. I will probably write a few more posts on this subject.
