A rare black and white diamond that looks like a soccer ball found In a mine in Russia during the World Cup
An unusual diamond in football shaped is found in Russia during the 2018 World Cup football matches in the country.
The diamond, shaped like a ball, is mostly white and small black spots adorn its face.
It was discovered at a diamond mine belonging to the Alrosa diamond mining group in the Krasnogorsk Oblast region of Russia.
Experts described the unusual shape and contours of the diamond as "a strange natural creation. "Some say that the little diamond is similar to the Adidas' classic "Telster" football ball, which was first used in Euro 1968 in Italy and 1970 World Cup in Mexico. Alrosa called the diamond after the name of Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinaviev.
