Launched on Sept. 20, the Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the Ukrainian electric bike DelFast eBike was successfully completed - the planned $ 50K stake was reached in the first 20 hours, and in total, the project managed to collect three times as much plan - $ 165K with 75 backers, who ordered 50 bikes.
Interestingly, most preferred the most "autonomous" version of Prime with a power reserve of 380 km, followed by a powerful Top with a top speed of 80 km / h, while the initial Lite attracted the least number of buyers. As part of the campaign, the budget version of Lite cost from $ 2,449 to $ 3,489 (retail - $ 4,160), the base Prime - from $ 2,899 to $ 4,289 (at retail - $ 5,180) and top-top - from $ 3,829 to $ 5,879 (at retail - $ 6,890).
The head of Delfast Daniel Tonkopiy noted that his team will try to start delivering the first electric bikes a month ahead of the promised date, that is, already in April 2018. Recall that after reaching a two-time mark of $ 100 thousand, DelFast eBike developers have expanded the initially available color palette to six variants: Jet Black, Platinum, Sapphire Blue, Amber, Ruby Red and Emerald Green.
To confirm the claimed power reserve, Delfast, together with the Kiev Cycle Track, conducted a test run, during which it set a world record for riding an electric bike on a single charge without the use of pedals, which was recorded by representatives of the Book of Records of Ukraine and independent experts. Initially, it was planned to drive 400 km with 380 km of power claimed in the official test, but due to low temperature the battery was discharged faster than the developers had hoped.
