And the winner is…. not you!

With midterm elections out of the way and both parties claiming a victory of sorts, time for a look at what really happened. So what did happen?
Nothing.
The results are exactly what they are supposed to be for the preservation of the system. With a House controlled by Democrats and Republicans strengthening their hold on the Senate, things are pretty much at a stalemate. For the next two years, we’re guaranteed spectacular fights and wars of words, enough to keep us busy while the business of politics happens, as usual, behind the scenes.

To be honest, during his first two years in office President Trump hasn’t accomplished much on the international scene - since I’m not living in the US this is the only part I’m interested in. Now that his power is somewhat limited by losing control of the House, he can go on doing nothing much, claiming it’s the Democrats fault. As for the Democrats, we can expect lots of fiery rhetoric, but not much action, as they can blame the Republicans controlling the Senate. Right below election results, CNN has an article mentioning impeachment - not easy to push through, but good enough to keep the Democrat supporters foaming at the mouth for months. Or pushing for the disclosure of Trump’s tax returns - another good rallying point…
Had the Republicans won both houses, Trump would've been hard pressed to show some results. Besides the economy and there are no guarantees the trend will keep up. Remember the talks regarding a looming economic crash!?

And the fighting is only going to get tougher as we get near the next presidential elections.
Democrats will do anything to weaken Trump’s position, especially as for the time being they do not have an important enough leader to try to win the White House. I understand how things work and I know the people behind the scenes trust the Clintons, but seriously Hillary running again would be beyond lame…
See what I’m doing here? I started this post with the clear intention of pointing out how irrelevant the elections were, yet I was immediately drawn in. We all do that, we like X, but hate Y, we bet we’re smart and can see where things are going and what would be best for the US and the rest of the world…. but that’s only in our minds! The only changes we’ll see are purely cosmetic, the system doesn’t change.
For the military-industrial system it’s business as usual! Even the guy who won the elections by promising to put America first dutifully signed the papers that once again increased the Pentagon’s budget! He will do it next year as well, but most people will be busy discussing impeachment, Russia-gate, primaries… whatever…
Smoke and mirrors, as always!

six of one, half dozen of the other .....you're right...all the same

If people who care finally wise up, they will learn that voting is a personal choice that one has available constantly. Not voting for others to act on their behalf, but choosing to do the right thing for themselves and their community.

I remember years ago when one of the Democrats was proposing that taxes needed raised (he was very wealthy), it was pointed out that if he was upset over how low his taxes were he was always free to add zeroes onto his check when paying. Of course, he ignored the observation. Yet, there was much power in that statement beyond the gotcha zinger it was thrown at him for.

It is similar to the lukewarm Christians, who go to church every Sunday and pay their tithe, then do what they want with little thought the rest of the week (many even on Sunday once they have paid their get out of hell fees) of their so called beliefs and how they should conduct themselves.

Sadly, people want others to act for them, whether it is an agency, the government or even Jesus. They do not wish to be burdened with the sacrifices, that is for others they believe. So when these lying politicians pretend they are not sold out to the world money players, pretend they care about us with their fancy psych propaganda the masses are eager to believe their brand of poison. They were released from their obligations to themselves, their families, their communities.

They are why shit is so bad, my regret being that unfortunately they drag all of us under the boots of these lying oppressors. Regardless of party. Jesus asked God to forgive them, because they didn't know what they were doing. One of my crosses has been trying to see them in the same light. I see mostly lazy greedy cowards when they reveal themselves with their party talk.

I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing. This whole idea that bad people are going to pay in the afterlife sounds too convenient to me.
