BKSDA: Age of Sperm Whales in East Aceh Over 50 Years
ACEH TIMUR - Aceh's Conservation and Natural Resources Agency (BKSDA) has conducted an examination of the whale carcasses stranded on Nurussalam Beach, Kab. East Aceh.
The carcass of the largest marine mammals of this type of sperm whale or sperm whale was previously discovered by local residents on Sunday (17/6) at around 14.00 WIB.
Head of the Aceh BKSDA, Sapto Aji Prabowo to Klikkabar.com said the whale was male and had a length of 15.5 m, front width of 3.9 m, rear width of 2.4 m, tail width of 3.3 m and length of fins 1 , 2 m.
The condition of the whale has decayed, especially in the abdomen, said Sapto Aji Prabowo, Tuesday (6/19).
Meanwhile, the age of the poor whale that was stranded was estimated at more than 50 years. While his life span is 60 to 70 years.
With such dimensions, estimates from friends in JAAN weighed about 13.7 tons and more than 50 years old, closed Sapto Aji Prabowo.
