Nowadays all kinds of bracelets are capable of monitoring our vital signs, from now on, it will be even easier because we can measure our blood pressure with a selfie.

Researchers from China and Canada have discovered how to measure blood pressure using the front camera of a mobile phone and thanks to the development of a technology called Transdermal Optical Imaging (TOI).

This technology is based on the fact that the skin is translucent, which allows mobile optical sensors to capture the light reflected by hemoglobin under the skin, and this in turn allows the TOI to visualize and measure changes in the blood flow.

With all this, the researchers were able to measure three types of blood pressure with 95% accuracy, including also the analysis of faces in prerecorded videos.

With all these advances, the figure of the family doctor who took care of us dressed in a white coat and stethoscope, is diluted until it is a blurred photo.
