Sweden taking the lead against the emerging cashless society....Wait...what???...Liberal Sweden??

in #news6 years ago (edited)

That's right. The Swedes lead most of Europe, indeed most of the world in terms of transactions completed without cash, but strangely enough there appears to be a groundswell of angst against total cashlessness welling up within Europe's most troubled nation. The Swedish Parliament’s Riksbank committee is considering a law which would require the nation's largest banks to offer cash withdrawals or face strict government sanctions. They also want to make the nation's banks service the nation's most rural areas with a law intended to make sure no one has to travel more than 16 miles (one way) in order to get cash, as/when needed.

As you might expect, the central banksters are not keen on the idea. Banksters are not used to being told by governments what to do--pure and simple. Plus, these laws would add costs to their operations, something that the banks are much more concerned with than customer satisfaction or service. Here is an excellent article that spells out exactly what is going on. It is definitely worth a read, because what is happening within Sweden right now could be a playing out, in miniature, of the debate which is surely soon to take place on a global stage as we move closer and closer to "The Beast System.":

This excerpt is one that I will post here for people not into clicking on links:

"The committee began looking at these issues amid worries that cash was disappearing too fast. A majority of bank branches in Sweden have stopped handling cash over the counter, and many shops and restaurants are also rejecting physical money. Still, a recent Riksbank study showed that the decline of cash is driven by the fact that Swedes prefer using electronic payments such as debit cards and mobile payments.

The Swedish Bankers’ Association said the plan would violate European Union laws on state aid and competition by forcing only a few banks to guarantee the supply of cash. 'To introduce a legal requirement where a few banks will be forced to manage cash supply in the country is legally very doubtful, as the same requirement isn’t placed on the other banks and other companies in the cash handling chain, such as retailers and cash-in-transit companies,' Hans Lindberg, the association’s director general, said in a statement."

Of course, liberal nation's like Sweden should easily be able to overcome such arguments by their country's largest banks, as it's sort of...well...the socialist thing to do. And, besides, the bigger banks can afford it, right? This could be a very interesting situation to monitor. There is also a proposal in the works that would require that all retail establishments continue (or re-instate the ability to) accept cash. That could be the even bigger debate as the urge for cashlessness grows globally.

The real question for Christians who read The Book of Revelations as futuristic (and not preterist) is that many fear that a cashless society will eventually exclude all people of faith who do not sign on to the world religion, the full LGBTQRSVFVYWVJHGGF agenda, the full surveillance-state milieu (including retina scans, marks on the hands or foreheads to transact,) etc. It looks like the first skirmish in THAT whole discussion is taking place in Sweden as we speak.

Sort:

this is indeed interesting. we'll hold you responsible for keeping us uptodate as it develops. what in the world is this? .."the full LGBTQRSVFVYWVJHGGF agenda" another agenda 21 thing?

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered....I forget the rest...they have so many classes of poor persecuted snowflakes out there now that need special rights and constant affirmation that what they re doing is totally normal and acceptable.

lol! okay kinda like what we tell our wives everyday about the amount of time we spend on Steemit?
