The General Election Commission (KPU) takes over the Aceh Independent Election Commission (KIP) if there is no inauguration of KIP Aceh members for the period 2018-2023.

This was conveyed Commissioner KPU, Ilham Saputra in Jakarta, Thursday (24/05/2018).

He mentioned that the KPU has issued a decree for the new Aceh KIP commissioner.

"But the decree is valid only after the inauguration.If there is no inauguration, then the KIP Aceh is empty, because the old commissioner SK has been revoked and that is starting from today," said Ilham.

KPU will immediately take over all the duties and authority of KIP Aceh in running the election stage, until there is a way out.

"Including the way out is, reviewing the inauguration done by the KPU, if the governor does not inaugurate as well," continued Ilham Saputra who had served as Vice Chairman of KIP Aceh period 2008-2013.
