German media reveals reason NATO Fear Turkey Buy S-400 Russia
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO is reportedly deeply concerned by purchasing Russia's S-400 missile defense system by Turkey. In its case, the sophisticated defense system could be Moscow's "mode" spying on the weakness of the F-35 fighter jet that every NATO member would operate, including Ankara.
This fear or NATO concern is reviewed by German magazine Spiegel. "NATO is afraid of 'Moscow spy' in the territory of its member states, because the maintenance of an S-400 anti-aircraft missile system purchased by Turkey will require Russian help," the magazine wrote in a May 11, 2018 edition report.
The US-led military alliance has huge concerns that Moscow can access sensitive information, including data on the new American multifunction fighter, the F-35.
Ankara according to the initial contract will get more than one hundred units of the fifth generation fighter jet fighter.
Washington has sought to persuade Turkey to cancel Russia's S-400 purchase contract by offering a US-made MIM-104 missile system. The reason, S-400 does not match NATO standards. Unfortunately, Washington's persuasion is futile.
Turkey's Deputy Minister for Defense Industry (SMM) Ismail Demir told Anadolu that Russia would supply the S-400 missile system to Ankara within an agreed time frame.
