In a message to the Federal Assembly in early March, Putin said that road traffic on the Crimean bridge will open in a few months. A little later, in mid-March, the Russian President came to the Crimean bridge, where he inspected the finished section of the road part of the Crimean bridge and talked to the builders. Speaking with them, Putin expressed a wish that people could start using it in the coming summer season.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, speaking about the imminent opening of the road, noted that the Russian leadership after the annexation of Crimea "had a huge responsibility — to establish a normal life on the Peninsula," which was far from Russian standards.
