Interesting articles as usual. About the article "foreign visitors choose Vietnam for repeat visits", that is a good sight for the Vietnamese travel industry. I would love to see if they also include the purpose of revisiting to Việt Nam.

  • Việt Nam recently having more visitors from Asia too, this could be one of the reasons that contribute to the overall number of visiting and returning.

Hihi . I always suspect reports from in country. It is really hard to believe because its color is so beautiful. For example, "The latest report also shows a high international tourist satisfaction rate at 93.4 percent." . It is too big for Vietnam.

I don’t know about numbers, but there seems lots of desire from my American friends to want to visit Vietnam. And those who visited it love the country for the food, sight, and people.

I actually like the way @haccolong thinks about it. It's local media so...yeah! Numbers are easily manipulated, most probably.

Maybe you are right and I believe so, but the last point is that humans are probably because they do not understand the Vietnamese. Maybe our nature is beautiful but it is gradually getting worse.
This is an example & in 2018 the Chinese have won this position, VN 2nd https://e.vnexpress.net/news/news/vietnamese-crime-rate-in-japan-stands-at-all-time-high-report-3736186.html
Hihi
@adam.tran Glad you like the way I think, and you probably believe it!

I doubt about the media in Vietnam too, according to another research was done independently by Europeran in 2014 state that Vietnam only has 6% return visitor rate.

However on this topic today, I don't have other recent data to compare to the one was given by the Vietnamese media, so for the benefit of the doubt, I will try to focus and discuss on the subject that was given. Otherwise, I would have to disagree with the article.

6% khakha and it jumped 93%. khakha
But perhaps stop it, because we have the right to doubt. And three suspects, one unknown who was almost consensus.
Ok dear friends!

Probably the news about the Cat Linh - Ha Dong railway on 7/7/2018 should be interested. This is a controversial route since it was started.

And a tragedy, maybe they did not deal well with this disaster.

and a very fun information :) http://langmoi.vn/bo-nhiem-gan-100-lanh-dao-truoc-ngay-ve-huu/

The Cat Linh - Ha Dong project may be a catalyst for further anti-Chinese sentiment. It’s hugely Chinese funded, correct?

It’s a real tragedy when countries don’t deal or ill-prepared for natural disasters. In America, while we have less of a problem with poverty than other countries and while the country is well prepared for natural disasters, you still see the class differences and how the disaster relief get carried out. In well-to-do communities (predominantly white), the relief is more immediate and in relatively poorer communities (predominantly black), the response is less desirable. Vietnamese communities are mixed in America on paper, but in general we are up-and-moving group of people and have contributed to the vitality of the American economy in the 43 years that the Vietnamese people have been here.

About the Cat Linh - Ha Dong project: You're right, and contractors, materials + equipment is also of China.
About the disaster: sad is the year in Vietnam is very much also, very very much :(

I really thank you. I was thrilled to receive the award. I will help you promote with people in the community

Great contribution!

niceeeeeeeee

Those are really important news but what I’m interested in the most is no. 1. It shows that how positive our tourism has been changed recently. And tourists are feeling more welcomed that’s probably why they decided to come back again!

It’s pretty impressive actually.

We are having more "resell" value xD Am I too negative? :)

OOps, By the way thank you so much for me prize too!

Thanks a lot for the reward!!

I just read the article about the tigers. Man, I've always been a lover of tigers and I've wondered how people can still kill those beautiful animals. I mean, I perfectly know they get some profit from it, but... Come on! How can they do it? It's like they don't have blood running in their veins, and I'm generalizing when I say this, cause not only Vietnamese people do that.
It's so sad to know that there is just a small amount of this magnificent creature remaining :(

Tigers are being endangered and the hunters and poachers are looking at this as an opportunity to kill these animals. It's a shame.

With me, Mother Mushroom is a great woman.
Now that she's fighting again in prison, it's hard to be patient.

Why is she known as "Mother Mushroom"?

Simply because it is her nickname on facebook. Today, I can not find her on fb, the account may have been locked.! :( If you can read, take a look at her. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MYIN

Wow ! I'm kinda happy to know the news number 1 that foreigners have a tendency to choose Vietnam for repeat visits. Actually, I just asked myself why they choose Vietnam, not other country else. From my perspective, there are several reasons for this. Firstly, Vietnam is incredibly BEAUTIFUL. That's right because Vietnam's considered as a country which has many different amazing landscapes including Ha Long bay- one of 7 natural wonders of the globe. Secondly, Everything is super CHEAP in Vietnam. We can list some such as : food, drinks, clothes, living cost, entertainment, health care, etc. It's easier for foreigners to land a well-paid jobs here because Vietnam has a range of career prospects. Thus, being able to pay off for their needs may not be a big deal. Last but not least, Vietnam is SAFE. In fact, in Vietnam, terrorism is very rare, unlike in western countries, which is a detrimental threat to citizens' lives there. Therefore, it's obvious that Vietnam has been a potential destination welcoming more and more foreign tourists.

I think everyone wants to visit Ha Long Bay before it becomes too commercialized and loses its natural beauty. Cost of living is cheap relative to international standard, but it's getting more expensive by the day. I wonder if the local people are able to experience the increased living standard or if some are being left behind. @haccolong, what do you think about the standard of living in Vietnam?

I think everyone would agree that Vietnam is super safe. You hear some talks about some mugging and petty thefts but you rarely hear about major deadly crimes. In the USA and other western countries, crimes resulting in significant injuries and deaths occur on a daily basi.

That's the difference between the countries' political systems. What I just mentioned is an answer given by a foreigner when I asked why she/he chose Vietnam to come. In general, my points may be correct. But, nothing is perfect. Like the saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." So, it's normal if you disagree with me and have another opinion. Also, there's one thing that I probably shouldn't forget to mention : " The grass is always greener on the other side." It seems to be quite practical but it might be the key to the given question.

My thoughts on the first news link:

I am certain that Vietnam has improved a lot not just in terms of tourism but in all other aspects. 3 years ago, when I decided I would want to live in Vietnam, it was so difficult to find English news online @nuoctuong. Almost all of the websites were in Tieng Viet. It was always disheartening for me to be unable to connect to a deeper level to some friends because of the language barrier. But thanks to the never quitting attitude of my Viet friends, they have tremendously improved their English and the whole VN communities as well. To date, I can pick any topic up (especially politics) and talk about it with my Vietnamese friends.
