Questions have to be asked about standards and selection. At some point it will come to bite them in the ass if a plane comes down.
Yeah for sure @preppervetruk, but does it really take hundreds of lives to be destroyed before the stupidity and well, plain iresponsibility of this ridiculous decision made by a " Federal " agency as important as the F.A.A be reversed back the system which employs people of high calibre for a job with extremely high rish and pressure ?? I mean am i dreaming really ?? Where has the sanity gone in this world ??
It's a typical 'Correctness' trend that is flowing across all aspects of society from The Oscars to Women in high ranking Jobs.... Although this time a massive safety margin is on the line....

I always maintain that if someone is good enough to do a job or get an award, GREAT! give them the credit/job, bot NOT just because of the Positive Discrimination / image reason....
Seriously this is just insane, you cannot give a job as important as this to somebody who cannot even tie his shoelaces without getting his fingrs ensnared in the laces ! The point system for candiatature now rewards people more if they say they have not worked in the last three years than people who have milatray flying experience ! That is just so dumb and outright dangerous when you consider the imperative importance to all our safety these people that control the skies !
