The Canadian government are apparently mobsters!
That’s the image they’re going to project if they implement “unexplained wealth orders” or UWO’s which seeks to "allow confiscation without finding the crime”. With UWOs, anyone targeted by the government would be required to prove they bought their property using “legitimate sources” of income, the province wouldn't need to show any link to criminal activity.

Nah, I don't think they're doing it because they "need the money". They're doing it to ruin the people and consolidate their power. They can print dollars from thin air so to think they're doing it for the money is naive and oversimplified.

In the U.S they have been using a lighter method of this, where the cops will take your valuables if caught with them while traveling (most often cash by those using it for legal business such as conventions and trade shows) and then release the person with no charges. They love to target people who are from another state, knowing it increases their odds of the person being unable to sue them in court as it increase the financial hardship to do so. The I10 corridor here is famous for it.
