ANNOUNCEMENT: Effective Monday, August 6, Rational Review News Digest will move back to my personal Steemit account, @thomaslknapp. I created this account (@rationalreview) with the intention of separating RRND out from my personal publishing so that it could build its own specific following, but that hasn't worked out very well, and the account hasn't even powered up enough to operate under its own Steem (pun intended). A couple of weeks ago, I accidentally published to my own account and got a LOT more views, votes, etc. If you follow @rationalreview and like it, please follow @thomaslknapp, where you'll get the same content plus (usually) three political op-ed columns a week. Other than that:
It's a "web-only Friday" at Rational Review News Digest -- we've got a big feed of news stories, commentaries, and audio/video links awaiting your reading pleasure at:
And it's the beginning of another month, which means a slightly heavier tap on the old "support the freedom movement's daily newspaper" drum.
We are a reader-supported publication, and we only run one full-tilt fundraiser a year -- in the fourth quarter, when we set a goal, drag out the ol' "thermometer" graphic, etc., but generally avoid the "we'll have to shut our doors if you don't take out a second mortgage" rhetoric that you're used to hearing from some donor-supported projects).
The rest of the year, I just mention on Fridays, and in a little more detail around the beginning of each month, that if you've never sent us something reflecting the value you find in our daily roundup for libertarians (since 1991, and in this format since 2002), it's always a great time to do so.
