AliExpress hired engineers from "Yandex" to learn Russian language services
The company agreed that the search engine of the trading platform doesn't cope with the translation of the names of the goods.
Chinese AliExpress hired four Yandex engineers to improve the quality of search and linguistics in the company's services.
The Chinese company does not yet have a search engine localized for Russia. Now the development of the search in Russian AliExpress is engaged in 10 people.
The search engine of the trading platform does not take into account the morphology of the Russian language, therefore the names of the goods are translated incorrectly. Improved search engine for Russian-speaking users will work on the site of AliExpress and in the company's own online store Tmall.
The new search engine will be able to select synonyms, correct errors, prompt the names of products to users, and also personalize the search, calculate in AliExpress. The Yandex.Market search engine - Yandex's own trading platform - foresees the goods that the user will buy with greater probability, told in Yandex.
In May 2016, AliExpress launched a crowdsourcing project that allows site customers to correct incorrect translations of product names. The participants of the program perform tasks for a certain time and evaluate the translations of other users.
