Comotion about policeman who beats back - where is the respect for police nowadays
In the Netherlands comotion has arisen about a policeman who retaliates when a woman hits him in the face.
People are now only very angry about the reaction of this policeman.
The situation
Officers put a man against the police bus to arrest him, but his girlfriend tried to prevent the arrest. She got a push from one of the agents and fell to the ground as can also be seen on films that circulate on the internet. When the police wanted to arrest her afterwards, the woman directed her anger at another agent. The woman went on the attack and hit an agent in his face. The agent then used force to control and to arrest her. He has reported this according to the procedure and that is being examined.
Excessive violence is never good. But one movie never shows the whole truth.
In my opinion you should in principle respect the police and emergency services. And you do not have to scold and beat them at all. Nowadays everyone records all actions of police with a camera. The youth is becoming bolder and disrespectful. I think it's time we'll stand behind the police. They are there to protect the population. Their lives are in daily danger.
No one seems to think about it anymore.
Of course, the police must also keep to the rules themselves. That is why it is good that this incident is being investigated. But in addition, we also have to think about the increasingly brutal youth.
It seems to me a difficult profession!

No one should physically attacking policemen. Not even swear at them.
In my opineon the police have to take hard actions if their authority is in danger.
Respect for the police!

I totally agree with you so much. You dont see the whole story in this. Yes the girl is handled rough (and she is clearly uberdrunk if you see how she falls), but police would never do that unless the feel the situation is out of control.
I work in healthcare...its amazing what kind of attitude we get from people we have to treat immediately afterwards. It doesnt mean you have to agree with everything, but forfaks-sake..a little bit of respect is not too much to ask right?
