Canadians are at a loss, when 5 days ago a truck slammed into the team bus of the Humboldt Broncos that carried 29 people including coaches, players, staff, and physical therapists. 16 people have died so far and it has left Canada in mourning. 13 more were injured and some paralyzed from the chest down.

The youngest of players to have lost their life was just 16 years old, soon to celebrate his 17th birthday.

Since the crash there has been vigils held across the country, green and gold ribbons tied to trees and lamp posts in every town, hockey sticks put out on door steps of houses and business, as well as an arranged national "jersey day" where everyone in Canada is making an effort to wear a hockey jersey in recognition of the loss we have suffered.

It is times like these Canadians lean on each other for the most important reasons and are willing to do anything for the families and team members of those who have been effected by this tragedy. I will always be proud to be a Canadian, and although my heart hurts, I know we will get through this together.
