Nine leaders of the regime will be accompanied by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who tomorrow will meet the president of South Korea, Moon Jae-in, in Panmunjon, in the inter-Korean demilitarized zone, for a historic summit. Delegation of senior party and military officials will include head of state Kim Yong-nam, Kim's sister, Kim Yo-jong, inter-Korean affairs manager Kim Yong-chol, Ri Su-yong, vice president of the Workers' Party and responsible for international issues. The previous inter-Korean summits of 2000 and 2007 had not seen the participation of senior military and diplomatic representatives, recall the South Korean media.

The authorities of Seoul made known the details of the historic meeting. Kim will cross the military demarcation line that separates the two Koreas at 9.30, to participate, ten minutes later, at 9.40 am, at an official welcoming ceremony.

The first talks between the leaders will start at 10.30, after Kim has signed the guestbook and posed for the commemorative photos of the event. Later, during the day, the two leaders will plant a pine tree dating back to 1953, the year of the armistice between the two Koreas, before signing an agreement. At 6.30 pm Kim and Moon will attend a welcome banquet, which will then be followed by a greeting ceremony.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump could also meet with South Korean President Moon Jae-in before the summit that will see him together with the North Korean leader. National security adviser John Bolton spoke yesterday with his South Korean counterpart Chung Eui-yong: the two referred to an appointment between the two presidents that could take place before the summit between the United States and North Korea, it was made known by the White House.
