INVESTING IN CRYPTOCURRENCIES IS MORE PROFITABLE THAN INVESTING IN COMPANY SHARES:

On the 19th of February 2015, two friends, John and Peter decided to do a three year experiment with some money they could afford to lose. Each of them had $1000 and John decided to invest it in cryptocurrencies. Peter invested his in company shares.

John bought 2.06 bitcoins for $500 at $242.67 per coin and on the 20th of October 2015 he bought 1041 Ethereum  for $500 at $0.48 each. Today on the 17th of February 2018, his $500 investment in bitcoins is now worth $22293.11 and his $500 investment in Ethereum is now worth $1007760.87. Thus, John's $1000 investment in cryptocurrencies made him a millionaire within three years. His portfolio is now worth $1030053.98.

Peter invested $500 in Apple by buying 4.27 shares for $117.16 each. On the same day, the 20th of February 2015, Peter also bought one share of Google for $500. On the 16th of February 2018, his $500 investment in Apple was worth $736.28 and his $500 investment in Google was now worth $1095.50. Thus, Peter's $1000 investment in company shares is now worth $1831.78.
