Google also offers a separate agreement to cover part or all of the license fees for companies that choose to install Chrome and Google search on their devices as well.

Google's licensing requirements changed in Europe later this month, due to a European Commission decision that prohibits companies from requiring cell phone manufacturers to package Chrome and browse with other applications.

In a public statement, Google has not revealed how exactly the new license fee will be structured. But documents disclosing agreements with EU producers will be assessed by country and pixel density.

EU countries are divided into three levels, with the highest costs coming in England, Sweden, Germany, Norway, and the Netherlands. In these countries, devices with pixel densities higher than 500 ppi must pay a fee of USD40 to license the Google application series, according to the price document.
