Good News/Bad News On Samsung Phones For Launch
So it some people have gotten a hand on the phone early and it looks like the blockchain wallet is ready on launch! No more rumours. This is big news for various reasons. I was worried it would not be out on launch and just be added later in the background. But you can go to the store and get your wallet on day 1.
But for the bad news it does not support bitcoin on launch (only ethereum) and it does not pop up as an app on phone you will have to download it.
However despite these drawbacks we are still taking a huge step forward. I mean HUGE. I'm assuming more coins will get added and more wallets will come. And an update shouldn't be long that adds bitcoin.
Now how do we get steem on it???

Any indication if you can download on older samsung phones or will it only be available for the new release and future phones only?

Probably the same way you can download the blockchain.org wallet from the App Store.
I suppose the good thing is that they are listing this as a feature knowing that it is a selling feature and a way to make their brand more progressive/innovative.
Small steps towards early majority is a good thing!

Damn. That's kinda disappointing. I think the key thing was to have the wallet pre-installed so that people who didn't have any inclination towards crypto currency would be exposed to crypto just by casually looking through their apps. Oh well. This isn't gonna stop mass adoption just slow it down ever so slightly.

The fact that the hardware is supporting any crypto wallet is a huge benefit as it gives the assets legitimacy in the eyes of people that still doubt. Now imagine how adoption will be impacted when Starbucks accepts Crypto and gives users a reason to have a secure wallet!
