The wait since the ended when Pakatan Harapan Chairman (PH), Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad again officially led the country as Malaysia's 7th prime minister.
The statesman swore in front of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V, at the State Palace.
Leadership of 4 PK component parties, namely PKR president, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and President Amanah Mohamad Sabu with members of PH's parliament and senior government officials Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Ali Hamsa also attended the ceremony.
About 1,000 supporters are also waiting for the Istana Negara door to congratulate Dr Mahathir.
At the age of 93 yers old,Dr Mahathir created the world's oldest prime minister after creating a historic victory for the opposition party by removing the Barisan Nasional (BN) from ruling the country since 61 years ago.
Last two days, Datuk Seri Najib Razak who led BN through the worst defeat in the history of the country, said he accepted the people's decision and urged all parties to calm down to allow the Agong to determine the 7th prime minister.
