As Jack Steel reached the entrance to his quarters, he thought to himself that there was no need to reflect on the encounter with Captain Dixon. The day had just begun, and the Captain had assured him that he could visit the Shipyard if he so desired. With a grin of curiosity, he turned away from his door, and began to make his way to the Shipyard. "Let's see what this Explorer II is really made of!" he thought as he made his way through the recognizable halls of the Base.

At the massive entrance of the Shipyard, Jack felt a sense of pride in knowing that he would not be stopped, and prevented from entering. In fact, the other Officers greeted him as a fellow crewman. The Cadet entered and pinpointed his objective - the Explorer II.

Before taking his next step, the Ensign in command called out to Jack, "Cadet First Class!" To which Jack promptly responded, "Yes, Sir?" The Ensign quickly answered as if in a hurry, "The shift is changing, Cadet. If you need any assistance, you'll need to wait until the next personnel take their positions." Cadet Steel smiled and simply said, "Thank you Ensign, but I'm just having a look around. If I need some help, I'll indeed wait for the other Officers to arrive." Jack then turned, and refocused on his target, while the scuffling of feet could be heard throughout the gigantic building, as the crew changed.

Jack boarded the Explorer II like a wide-eyed curious child at an amusement park. The ship was enormous, far larger than the standard Explorer I. Inside, he found all kinds of equipment for building robots, and monitors for detecting planets. What a work of technological art! he thought.

As he continued to study the interior of the ship, he heard the sound of the entrance closing, followed by a sudden jolt of the entire vessel. Not being seated, and buckled in, Jack lost his balance and fell, hitting his head against the rail. As he landed unconscious on the floor, the computer system activated.

Human life detected. Activating atmosphere. Please identify yourself?

The command was repeated, but Jack was unresponsive!

The flight lasted about 17 hours, but Cadet Steel remained comatose. Suddenly, the computer system reawakened.

Planet detected. Activating landing sequence.

The ship circled around the alien planet searching for a suitable location to build a Base. Finally, an area was found, and the Explorer II began its descent. The stratosphere was full of violent storms, and the vessel bounced Jack around from his lifeless position. The Cadet opened his eyes, and heard the terrifying cracks of thunder all around him. "What the hell is going on here?!" The computer responded.

Please remain seated as we are performing the landing sequence.

What landing sequence? Where the hell are we?

Jack lifted his aching body, and made his way to the nearest seat. The ship continued to jolt until a clear patch of the troposphere was entered. The Explorer II slowed and calmly touched the ground. The automated robotics system was ignited, and small machines began assembling larger machine. Jack unbuckled himself and ran for the computer console.

Computer, where the hell are we?!

Please identify yourself?

Jack Steel! Where have you brought me?

Greetings Captain Steel, please place your hand on the monitor.

Captain Steel?!, he exclaimed as he placed his hand on the screen.

Thank you Captain, please assign your Commander.

Commander?! But I'm alone here! Computer, where are we?!
