A REVOLUTION OF WITS

I am a Nigerian, and very proud to be one.
Nigeria has been adjudged the third (3rd) most life frustrating country in the world but yet I'm proud to be a Nigerian because I know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Nigeria is the most populated and the biggest black nation in the world, blessed with rich flora and fauna, abundant deposits of mineral resources, vast arable and fertile lands, and most importantly able and great human resources.

We have so many Nigerians who have carved a niche for themselves in different walks of life including Medicine, Science and technology, Pharmaceuticals, Computer and IT, Literature, Academics, Business, etc.

Despite all these resources at our disposal, majority of Nigerians are living hardship (statistics shows that over 60% of the Nigerian population lives below poverty line).

The untold hardship in the country is majorly as a result of our political leaders who have failed in provision of social amenities and basic infrastructure for the populace, but are more concerned with self agrandisement, evident in their insensitivity, greed, corruption, extensive looting of the nation's treasury with impunity, and complacency in their constitutional duties.

It is no longer news that a revolution is direly needed in this country, but the question is what kind of revolution do we need and who will lead the revolution.

Our youths that have been too scared to step out because of fear of our leaders and their dogs of war (the security agencies, forces), have been emboldened by the untold hardship with no hope of a possible panacea in view, leading to agitations in different quarters, calls for secession, protests against the government, industrial actions/strikes, etc.

In response to these agitations, the political leaders decided to take the option of treating the symptoms and leaving the ailment, they decided to let loose their military dogs to bite and scare the angry youths into hiding, but it is not working the youths are becoming defiant.

Permit me to say that we do not need a revolution of carrying placards, we do not need to carry guns, we do not need to protest, we do not need to destroy government property,

NO, WE NEED A REVOLUTION OF WITS.

It is time for the youths change our thinking and reposition ourselves.

It might interest you to know that over 70% of the voting population of this country are youths below the age of 40, yet we keep voting men who are very close to their graves as our leaders, men who are not even conversant with the 21st century basic technologies and ideologies; little wonder they are gradually driving us back to the stone age.

Why would a seventy year old man running for an elective position buy guns and distribute to young men below 30 to go and kill themselves so that he can rule, why would a seventy year old president hire a 20 year old to write his speeches, why would a seventy year old president hire a 30 year old as his advisor, why not step aside, retire and let those that know the job do the job.

They say they have an experience on the job, arrant nonsense, the experience they have is on how to loot our treasury and that is why none of them can do anything differently.

It is time the job is handed over to newbies who would do the job with gusto, who would want to impress the populace, who would want to do good by the people.

Yes they have embezzled all the funds, but we have all the votes, if a 39year old could become the President of France even as an independent candidate, we can also produce young men that can pilot this nation as independent candidates.

This is therefore a call on elite and erudite youths who are ready to champion this course to come out let's join hands to conscientize our youths and let them know that the power is in their hands.

2019 is fast approaching, let the revolution begin, the revolution of wits is the answer.

We were told as kids that we are the future leaders, the leaders of tomorrow, today is that tomorrow we were told about yesterday, the future is here with us now.
Youths arise.

I may disagree with you on Nigeria but you are entitled to your opinion. Me I dont see any thing that should make me proud here. NOTHING. Where destinies are wasted.Chai!

It starts with you and I to correct that error, that is why we need to change our reasoning and put hands together to build this nation.

Indeed. A true Nigerian. If everyone would be as patriotic as you are. Well done sir.

One of the problem we have is that youths are not interested in political affairs ,majority are less concined
We dont have a voice

Well spoken dear, that's the reason we need a complete re-orientation among the youth

Truth is everyone has a part to play for the ideal Nigeria to emerge. Stop allowing yourself to be used as a tool to perpetuate violence. Stand for what is right.
