«Tindeslottet», The Peak Castle on Stord
On a hike on the island of Stord, we visited «The Peak Castle.»
It is a mountain hut built of natural stone found in the area close to where it is situated on a mountain top on the road to the highest mountain on Stord, «Mehammarsåta» with a height of 752 meters.
The first photo shows "The Peak Castle" overlooking west towards the sea.
One of the photos shows the interior of this stone hut.
Besides the pictures of the stone hut, there is a picture of dwarf birch (Betula nana), and a distorted juniper (Juniperus communis).
In the high mountains, only the hardiest plants can survive.

I really liked the dwarf birch.
While these are not seen :-)
And the stone hut, is a real find.
It is unlikely that such somewhere else these huts can be found.

Dwarf birch is a beautiful bush. In the autumn they form fine red autumn colours. I hope to get pictures of this bush next fall. Then I want to publish them.
