ADHD, ADD and DAMP
ADHD is a generic term covering ADD and DAMP.

ADD, ADHD without hyperactivity, with an emphasis on attention problems.
DAMP, ADHD is combined with the DCD (Developmental Co-ordination Disorder). DCD is characterized by large motor skills problems and sometimes perception problem.
People with ADHD often have other neuropsychiatric disorders such as Tourette's, Asperger's or OCD. It is also common with learning difficulties and dyslexia.

How do you notice that you have ADHD?
ADHD manifests itself differently in different individuals and at different times of life. The severity and type of problems vary from person to person, here you can read about some of the common core symptoms.

attention Problems
Can show through, for example, concentration difficulties, sloppiness, forgetfulness and lättstördhet. Many get bored easily and have difficulty completing things that they are not very interested.

impulsiveness
Can show through strong and difficult to control emotional reactions, poor ability to listen to others and difficulties in dealing with unstructured situations that require reflection and consideration. In some impulsivity leads also to motor clumsiness.

overactivity
Is really about difficulties in regulating the activity level for what you do, so that it is either too low or too high. Difficulties to unwind and sit still can alternate with extreme passivity and fatigue. Hyperactivity in children is often physical, adult shows, among other things palpable restlessness and insomnia.

Some people with ADHD is just one of the core symptoms, while others have several. People with DAMP (ADHD + DCD) also have problems with motor control and sometimes perception. In people with ADD lack of activity completely. Rather, they have lower levels of activity than normal.
