Roman arch in blue

Hello dear friends.

Today I share an ancient glimpse painted in watercolor.

It is a 3rd century BC Roman arch located above the oldest street in Europe, the famous Appian Street.

This road starts from Rome and goes all the way to Brindisi, 525 Km. that cross beautiful areas.

The Romans called it Queen Viarum (Queen of the Streets) and it is considered one of the most important works of nature in the ancient world.

My city, Terracina in Lazio, is home to several kilometers and some are very characteristic, because they pass in the Old Historical Center.

I also share other glimpses of Terracina and some watercolors that highlight its beauty.

Arco romano nel blu

Ciao cari amici.

Oggi condivido uno scorcio antico dipinto ad acquarello.

Si tratta di un arco romano del 3° secolo A.C. posto sopra la strada più antica d'Europa, la famosa via Appia.

Questa strada parte da Roma ed arriva fino a Brindisi, 525 chilometri che attraverano delle zone bellissime dal centro al sud Italia.

I romani la chiamavano regina viarum (regina delle strade) ed è considerata una delle opere di ingeneria più importanti del mondo antico.

La mia città, Terracina ne ospita diversi chilometri ed alcuni sono molto caratteristici, perchè passano nel centro Storico Antico.

Condivido anche altri scorci di Terracina ed alcuni acquarelli che ne evidenziano la bellezza.
