I have been lost for the last few days (as always), but I come with excellent news and very happy, I was hired for my drawings! Well, not hired as such, but I did get my first commission and that made me very happy.

The commission was via Instagram, since I also usually post my drawings there, I was asked to design a character based on the characteristics I was given, the person who requested the commission is an old friend of childhood, so the conversation was quite fluid I even made a little drawing to explain the pose of the character, told me "blue is a table and I want to carry an empty bag". I make it clear that he has given me permission to publish the drawing here.

Tools:

  • Medibang Paint Pro
  • Mouse

-Step 1:

As usual, I started with a quick sketch, taking into account the character's perspective and the client's wishes.

-Step 2:

Since it was very small, I decided to extend it a little, using the "transform" tool, after a couple of clicks I take a slimmer and stronger position. Then I added a new layer and proceeded to delineate the character with more fluid and clean strokes.

-Step 3:

Then I added color, trying not to get out of the outline, since the drawing had to be in PNG format with transparent background (the background tone is not to leave it floating in the void).

-Step 4:

It's time to get rid of the line, with a little rustic strokes add the tones you wanted in each area and I have begun to shape the face.

-Step 5:

With a diffuse brush, soften the tones I had previously applied, always taking into account that there would be a shine coming from the table. Also, modify the features of the face, since the eyes were badly located, by correcting them and detailing them properly, you can enhance the attractiveness of the character.

-Step 6:

The final details were based mostly on the correction of the bag, which had to look bulky but remain empty, so that in the future we could add different elements to it. When I present the final drawing to the client I praise and congratulate myself, although there was a small detail, although he had seen images of the process never told me anything about the pants, so he apologized and I wonder if I could turn them green, luckily for both was something simple to do, since only select the area and with the mode "superposition" get to bring it to the green tone he wanted. And so my first commission turned out to be a success.

I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.
