There is a flower pot outside the window and a squirrel buries his nuts in the pot.
Our little Troy knows squirrels and at the old place where we stayed, his chasing after the squirrels was always futile. They were always too quick for him.
The squirrel this morning knew that there was a window between them and he simply ignored our little dog.
I believe in telling both sides of a story and I will show you what it looked like from the squirrel's side.

Hope that you enjoy the pictures.

Here's one more shot from Troy's side and then some photos from the squirrel's side.

This is what the squirrel saw when he looked through the window!

IMG_5132.JPG

I ghosted outside and waited. Voila! There he is on his way to fetch another nut!

IMG_5134.JPG

Boom. He jumped onto the lower pot and then onto the hanging pot!

IMG_5139.JPG

Here you can see that he deliberately turned his back to the window. I could hear little Troy's frantic barking inside the house!

IMG_5140.JPG

I let out a soft cough in the bush to get him to look in my direction, but of course he couldn't see me!

IMG_5148.JPG

Here's the bigger picture and the squirrel on the flower pot below the window!

Finally, the squirrel was leaving and the show was over!

I have shown you both sides of the coin here, from Troy's side and from the squirrel's side. Two brave little animals that each have their own way in life. Troy is very jealous about his territory, as chihuahuas own ever place where they stay and the squirrel needs to stash his nuts in the flower pot. So it turns out that both are right in what they are doing.
They will never be friends, but the window is a barrier so that each can continue with their own lives', as Troy will become used to the squirrel at the window and he will soon stop barking at them.

Here Marian is showing you the nuts that squirrel's take from the trees!

So what is Mother nature's lesson to us here?

A very simple, but also complicated message due to our human nature.
You see, we will simply try to remove the window (barrier) between us and our enemies, so that we can attack and kill them. We simply cannot understand and accept our differences and leave each other to continue in our own ways.
Wars have removed the barriers (borders) and refugees are invading countries across the world.
Imagine us taking out the window and the squirrels moving into the house. There will be no peace, as Troy and the squirrels will continue to fight over his food leaving someone destitute and hungry.

Greed, fueled by hatred and anger sows dissent and destruction.
Compassion lavished by respect and love is a healing balm.
Think about it!

All strength to your work!

Good exercise for Troy in expanding his lungs, squirrel's clever pantry is in a place not many will venture to invade.

Now squirrel has an alarm dog to signal if anyone comes close to his stash, living together will quieten down in time even though friendship will never happen, a bit of a symbiotic relationship may form in time to come Stephen.

Thank you Lady Joan, I think you are right and let's hope for the best.
I have never had a tribe of squirrels living in a palm tree outside my front door and so I think it's going to be an interesting learning curve for all of us.
One that I am looking forward to no doubt.
The good thing is that we will never try to tame them!
Blessings!

Hahaha! The squirrel is sooo cute!!

LOl squirrels can be so cheeky especially this one when he knew your dog couldn't get to him through the window

Hahaha, very clever little guys JJ.
Blessings!

Blessing my Friend have a great day

The squirrel is rather brazen to be choosing the pot right by the window for storing his nuts but I imagine he was probably doing that before Troy was living in that house. Makes for some cute pictures though! I like seeing them from both sides!
Wouldn't that be wonderful if we could adopt more of an attitude of tolerance and acceptance and live in peace and harmony!
Thanks for sharing!

The squirrels are very adapt at selecting unusual hiding places to store their nuts my friend and you are right, as he must have stored them here before we arrived.
I hear that the elderly lady that used to live here had no animals and that she used to feed the squirrels.
Sadly she passed away and we will simply continue to feed the little guys.
Keeping Troy away from them of course.
As long as greed and pride is alive in this world, love and peace will fight a continual battle my friend.
Blessings!

It's a very nice moral that you present. Every story has two - or more! - sides, and it's important to understand that others have different perspectives. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you my friend, in fact any story has two sides and then there is a third side that is called the truth.
We are all biased whenever we present our side of a story, but invariably a cut of the self protecting issues in the two versions will reveal the truth.
Just my own take on it.
Blessings!

Wonderful to see how nature is co-existing all around you quite peacefully there.

Thank you and peace can be found anywhere if it is firstly within my friend.
That's what mother nature with her beauty teaches, but of course the human condition rather seem to prefer the exact opposite.
Blessings!

Hello@papilloncharity. Beautiful pictures, even more beautiful illustration. Compassion is the key. Well said, my friend. Have a great day, regards to your lovely wife. Beautiful people in a beautiful home.

He wants to go outside and play with the squirrel, eh?

Hahaha, no my friend, he want to go and tell the squirrel that this is his place and not the squirrel's!
Blessings!

Ahahahah! 😂

Delightful photos of your dog and the squirrel. The squirrel is smart enough to know he is safe with the window between them and loves teasing Troy.

Thank you Lady Jo.
I think that squirrel is a very nervy character.
Blessings!
