Malaysia 1987 30 years of independence Commemorative coin
On 29 August 1987, Bank Negara Malaysia issued commemorative coins that is legal tender in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of Malaysia's independence on 31 August 1987. The 3 type coins were issued using gold, silver and Copper-zinc metals. Each type of coin is issued in 2 forms , proof and non-proof.
The three front each of the coin have the 14-pointed star equation on the top of the coin and the word "30 Tahun MERDEKA" year "1957-1987" at the bottom of the coin. Designs in the middle of the coin are different:
i. Gold coins: The building of the National Mosque and the Malaysian Parliament with crossed keris depicts the state's peace and prosperity.
ii. Silver coins: - Oil transit, Proton national car, Dayabumi building and Penang Bridge depicts 30 years of state development.
iii. Copper-zinc coins: -30 pigeons describe 30 years of independence and independence.
At the rear of the coin , the design is the same, Malaysia Coat of arm in the middle, surrounded by the word "BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA" at the top of the coin and the value of the coin at the bottom.
All these coins have been mint by the Singapore Mint.
