What will happen to the value of Bitcoin?

in #ocd5 years ago

Possibly most of the people that today are in the world of cryptocurrencies (among whom I include myself) have witnessed a market in decline. And is that most have been taking knowledge of the cryptographic world since Bitcoin was news in December 2017, when the increase in its price reached such levels that the whole world turned its gaze towards this value. And from then on and throughout 2018 the Bitcoin and all the other cryptocurrencies did nothing but lose value.

Bitcoin

But the year 2019 has been showing different. It seems that Bitcoin has once again become bullish. Of course, the high volatility of this asset makes it very difficult to predict what will happen in the future. And is that the factors that can affect the price are many. The technology behind the cryptocurrencies (blockchain or block chain) is still in its experimental phase, with which its values at this time are primarily the product of pure speculation and the expectations that can be had.

And in order to venture possible causes of the rise that Bitcoin is currently experiencing, and starting from the general idea that it is a market with a high degree of manipulation, some news related to Theter may be having its interference.

What is Tether?

Theter is a cryptocurrency that is presented as always worth the same as the US dollar or, in another version, the Euro. This could be real only if the amount circulating from Theter was backed by exactly the same amount in dollars. It happens that this amount should be about 1,000 million dollars. And it is that Theter is used as a refuge when the market is bearish and it is also a tool that traders use continuously to enter and exit their investments in cryptocurrencies, especially those with which Theter operates directly.

It is not the first time that there is news about the trial that is being carried out to Bitfinex about its Theter. But when the news that is given open a mantle of suspicion about this controversial cryptocurrency, it may be that many traders or those who are circumstantially "refugees" in Theter decide to leave it. And where would they go? Since they are in cryptocurrency exchanges, at first they would have no choice but to go to another cryptocurrency and without Theter the cryptocurrency that can better withstand the volatility will be the one with the highest capitalization, that is, Bitcoin, which is also the main entry cryptocurrency and exit to the real dollars.

Perhaps some of that may be explaining the actual rises in Bitcoin. In the context of this idea, what happens next will depend on whether most of those who have gone from Theter to Bitcoin will decide to go to the real dollar or if instead they choose to remain investors in the cryptographic market.

Investors for the Altcoins

One could also think that the promoters of different altcoins are looking to draw attention to cryptocurrencies to attract investors to the market. And certainly Bitcoin, which has more than 50% of the total capitalization of the cryptographic market, is that window.

If this were so, it could happen that after a bullish rally Bitcoin began another of some altcoins.
