Two major well known oil companies Chevron and Royal duch Shell on first of February announced a major deepwater oil discovery at two seperate wells located in U.S gulf of Mexico. This has be discribed as hugely significant

The discovery is known to be in the Alaminos Canyon block 772, adjecent shell operated silvership field.
About Chevron Discovery
Chevron also said it made it own oil discovery in the ballymore prospect , located deep offshore in the earstern U.S Gulf of Mexico
