Shaun White - American Hero

in #olympics6 years ago

This year, the Winter Olympic Games are being held in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Every four years we get to watch athletes from around the globe compete in special games such as Alpine Skiing, Bobsleigh, Curling, Luge, Skeleton, Figure Skating, and Snowboarding.

Last night, the world watched Shaun White fall behind in the men's halfpipe final. Down just 1.00 points and on his final run, White did what he does best. White racked up a score of 97.75 besting younger snowboarders Ayumu Hirano of Japan, who scored 95.25 in his best run, and Scotty James of Australia who scored 92.00 in his best run. White previously won gold in halfpipe at Turin 2006 as well as Vancouver 2010. He didn’t medal at Sochi 2014, so his win in South Korea was a dramatic and emotional comeback.

The snowboarding icon earned himself his third gold medal, and marking the 100th gold medal won by the United States in the Winter Games. Incredible achievements for both Shaun and the United States!

USA USA USA!!! Great come back.

I saw his fall in New Zealand only 4 to 5 months ago. He split his face wide open. How amazing to overcome that fear and ride like this. Silver already was his and. 1 run for gold and he killed it!!!
