011218 : Succulents Saturday
Happy Saturday Steemit!
What are you guys up to this weekend?
We just got home after a day down the mountain going to all the places I've been hanging to go to like the Mum seller of succulents at Bidwill.
I have lived in the Western suburbs of Sydney since I was 15 and have never ventured out Bidwill/Mt Druitt way until today. It was considered a bad area when I was growing up so I never borrowed that trouble.
Up until today anyway, with Hubby acting as bodyguard telling me to stay in the car until he found the house 😁❤🤗.
The lady ended up being so nice and helpful, selling some of the most gorgeous succulents I've seen so far at more than reasonable prices.
The pots were $10 each and the cups were $1. Like, come on now! #shutupandtakemymoney
While we were in the area we popped in to the recently opened Mate Burger at Mt Druitt who sells Filipino burgers/food.
They started off as a food truck business in 2016 (?) and have since amassed a cult following. I have been following them on Instagram for years and finally tried their food today.
We both got the lechon bowl (crispy pork bowl) and shared thr BBQ sticks. We also tried the Calamango ice candy ~ it was the only thing I wasn't that keen on. The rest met all my expectations.
Then finally, we went to one of my favourite spots in the area, the Creative Spirit Centre in Minchinbury ~ a place I once considered my second home.
They'll be closing down in the new year and we had to go in and see everyone while we were in the area. Hoping to be back and hang out with the girls before the doors shut forever.
Overall it's been an awesome day. I'm gonna savour it as much as I can now because I need to get back on party mode tomorrow.
14 days til the party and still so much to do and sort out! Pray for me!
