Kitchen Play with @littledrummerboy: Making Chocolate Banana Muffins

Hello everyone. Today, I came out of my comfort zone of being in front of a camera especially being videoed and thought I could make an appearance with @littledrummerboy.

So, recently he LOVES muffins a lot and especially the ones from Kenny Rogers. He would ask for them as if I always have them ready at home. Instead of buying them today, I was thinking maybe we could try making them at home!!! Well, I wasn't sure of the success rate but I figured if I got him to participate with me, he may be okay even if it failed. Hahahah. Yeah, it is more like a fun activity for us to get messy and hands into our food.

The second reason why we were baking this was we ALWAYS have over ripened bananas and this round, there were just too many of them. I didn't want them to go to waste, so let's make muffins with them!

This is the second time @littledrummerboy bakes with me after I got him his own apron. He sometimes asked to bake because we have tried it once together. The first was his own 3rd birthday brownie cake with me 3 months ago. It is actually the same recipe, because I am only more confident doing one with less ingredients. I could not decide between brownies or muffins and I thought I would do some "cheat" by baking brownies in muffin cups and call them muffins Hahahaha! Even so, I have to be honest with you that we actually forgot an ingredient which was the flour!!!! So behind the scenes was we had to pour out the batter into the mixing bowl again to add the flour and pour back into new cups. It took us another long while so I didn't video that, Hahaha! We finally managed to make 8 cups with that batter and they smelled really good.

While I was cleaning up, @littledrummerboy was also carrying the dirty bowls and cups into the toilet to wash by himself. I was so amused by that. He came to me and said, "Oh man, it's so dirty!" Even his grandma laughed at his exclamation. He wanted to "clean" the newspaper as well, oh dear. I had to stop him, telling him those are for throw, to ease the cleaning up.

In case, you didn't get the recipe from our chaotic video (forgetting ingredients), here's the recipe from Rachel Ray:

2 cups sugar
1 1/2 sticks melted unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
chocolate chips (however much you like or have!)
1 cup flour

It is just basically mixing the ingredients in this order and bake at 375F or 176C for 30 minutes!

It was a success!!!!!! He was so excited when he heard the timer was up! "It's done!" he said, raising his finger up. I had to remind him to not touch the oven, as he was so excited and anticipating the outcome.

Such a fun time doing stuffs like this with him. My husband @danielwong did pop in a while to have a look at us, not knowing we were recording, haha.

Hope our first appearance in a video isn't too bad! I tend to repeat myself and got a bit nervous knowing that this will be on dtube and Steemit, Hahaha! I admire some of you who are very natural when you video yourselves like @crowbarmama and @vincy but I am so inspired by you that I gave it a try! Perhaps next to learn is video editing so it doesn't have to be this long and draggy, LOL. Thank you for watching!
