You rise to your feet out of the strange liquid and go over to investigate the rummaging coming from the bushes.
With each step you take, you need to exert a surprising amount of force to pull your foot out of this water.
It's not swamp-like, nor is it muddy. But as you get nearer to the bushes, it is becoming increasingly hard to actually walk.Soon, as you stand mere inches away from the dead and ashed-colored patch of thicket, you are completely unable to move.
"meeeeeee sooorrrrryyyyy", you hear squeal from where the rummaging once came from.
"meeeee don't know yoooooouuu.... sooooo... doooooon't come neeeeaaar meeeeeee... kaaaaaay, ooookaaaaayy, ok...."
This little high-pitched voice darts back-and-forth between the bushes in a chaotic manner. Suddenly, you're able to spot, through a small opening between the bramble, a tiny yellow eye staring back at you, with the pupil nearly taking up all the real-estate, almost as wide as the eye itself.
