Steemit Open Mic Week 88 - Green Tinted Sixties Mind (Mr. Big Cover) (Instrumental Version) by: adrianjordaz

Saludos, queridos Steemians! Aquí está mi entrada para el Steemit Open Mic de esta semana 88.

La canción que escogí en esta ocasión es de uno de mis grupos favoritos como lo es Mr. Big. “Los grandes”, “los imparables”, “los maestros”; estos serían algunos términos con los que yo describiría a esta grandiosa banda, con músicos del mayor calibre en el planeta como lo son los señores Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan, Eric Martin y Pat Torpey (Que lamentablemente falleció hace muy poco tiempo, que en paz descanse).

A mediados del 2013, gracias a su DVD “Back to Budokan 2009”, empecé a interesarme muchísimo por ellos. Para mí era impresionante el ver como Paul y Billy hacían añicos sus instrumentos con increíbles técnicas, efectos e incluso artilugios como lo era un taladro con pajuelas incrustadas, ¡era una locura! Por otra parte, estaba Pat llevando la rítmica de las canciones con una precisión y tranquilidad excelente, y luego estaba Eric cantando con ese tono de voz único e inigualable. En el escenario, eran imparables.

“Green Tinted Sixties Mind” fue una de las primeras canciones que escuche, y sin duda alguna marco un antes y un después en mi vida musical. El riff de entrada de la canción era algo que jamás había visto, era un total espectáculo ver a Paul con toda su destreza y técnica ejecutándolo, uniendo Hammer on’s y Pull off’s con Tapping. Sin duda, algún día tendría que aprender a hacerlo.

Luego de muchísimos días de práctica, sangre, sudor, lágrimas y mil intentos tomas fallidas, por fin les traigo mi Cover (en versión instrumental) de esta hermosísima canción.

Disculpen la calidad del audio, tuve problemas con el micrófono de mi cámara y por eso el volumen varia un poco entre el Backing Track y la guitarra.

Greetings, dear Steemians! Here´s my entry for the Steemit Open Mic week 88.

The song I chose on this occasion is from one of my favorite bands like Mr. Big. "The big ones", "the unstoppable ones", "the teachers"; these would be some terms with which I would describe this great band, with musicians of the highest caliber on the planet as are the Mrs. Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan, Eric Martin and Pat Torpey (who unfortunately died a short time ago, rest in peace).

In mid-2013, thanks to his DVD "Back to Budokan 2009", I began to be very interested in them. For me it was amazing to see how Paul and Billy shattered their instruments with incredible techniques, effects and even gadgets such as a drill with embedded straws, it was crazy! On the other hand, Pat was carrying the rhythm of the songs with excellent precision and tranquility, and then there was Eric singing with that unique and unparalleled tone of voice. On stage, they were unstoppable.

"Green Tinted Sixties Mind" was one of the first songs I heard, and without a doubt marked a before and after in my musical life. The riff of entrance of the song was something that never had seen, it was a total spectacle to see Paul with all his skill and technique executing it, uniting Hammer on's and Pull off's with Tapping. No doubt, one day I would have to learn to do it.

After many days of practice, blood, sweat, tears and a thousand unsuccessful attempts, I finally bring you my cover (instrumental version) of this beautiful song.

Sorry for the quality of the audio, I had problems with my camera's microphone and that's why the volume varies a bit between the Backing Track and the guitar.
