Steemit Open Mic Week 120 - Record Your Performance And Win Steem - Sponsored By @pfunk And @luzcypher

in #openmic5 years ago

Steemit Open Mic is an online, live music venue to give musicians a chance to share their music with the Steemit community and get their music heard. It is growing larger every week thanks to all of you.

RECENT CHANGES TO DTUBE NOW REQUIRE THAT DTUBE IS THE FIRST TAG WHEN USING DTUBE. TO ENTER OPEN MIC WE NEED OPENMIC TO BE THE FIRST TAG SO WE CAN UPVOTE YOU WITH THE OPENMIC TRAIL AND INCLUDE YOU IN THIS WEEKLY POST OF ENTRIES

Many people are not aware of the changes DTube made and that is why many of those who entered using DTube this week were not included in this weeks see who played open mic post. To get the full benefit of upvotes from the open mic community please follow the rules and make openmic the first tag. We will let you know if this changes in the future. Thanks for understanding.

I want to thank all the talented people that have made the Open Mic contest such a joy to host. It is a pleasure listening to everyone's music and getting to know you guys. Steemit is SO cool like that.

He is a big part of the minnowsupportproject.org, the Peace, Abundance, and Liberty network on Discord, and delegates to many good causes on Steemit. You can vote for him as a wtness here. He just reached out and donated 100 Steem per week to help Open Mic

NOTE: While we used to allow acapella performances to get in, recently there have been too many entries from singers without any musicians. Open Mic is a community of musicians and for this reason, tickets without a musical instrument will not be considered a valid entry. NO KARAOKE

It is very important to say the words "Steemit Open Mic Week 120" AND YOUR USERNAME at the beginning of your recorded video. Posts without those words spoken in the beginning of your live, recorded video do not qualify for prizes.

From now on, anyone entering Open Mic must say Steemit Open Mic Week Number (current week number) and their username to have a valid entry. This is to stop scammers from stealing your video and entering it as their own.

    Steemit Open Mic Week 120

Thanks for supporting, upvoting, Resteeming and entering Steemit Open Mic, a community of music lovers for music lovers and musicians.

    2 Votes = Win Win

You can help support Steemit Open Mic by making sure to vote two times.

    • Once on this post so the payouts for the winners will make this contest self-supporting. We're very grateful @pfunk is helping out right now, but helping this post with upvotes gives more rewards to the winners and the contest will be self-supporting.

    • And vote a 2nd time on the link of your favorite entry's post found in the comments below. This will help support all the musicians that entered, even if they didn't win the contest.

    • In fact, some entries earned very well, even though they didn't win. And that's good because musicians need to eat.

**Winners from week 119 will be announced **, Monday, January 14th, 2019 so be sure to follow @luzcypher for updates and thanks for everyone that entered, upvoted and resteemed Steemit Open Mic.

    Steemit Open Mic Process

Keeping it short and sweet, here is the flow of considerations for the Steemit Open Mic contest:-

    • Need to promote community participation in the spirit of Steemit Open Mic night.

    • So.. Steemit Open Mic submissions in comments, community voting and reblogging are encouraged.

    • However, we need to avoid public vote abuse and keep a certain standard for Steemit Open Mic night.

    • So.. community voting as the first filter, before internal voting.
    • Another problem: late submissions are usually disadvantaged as they get less attention on the contest post.
    • So.. we've tried to mitigate such a problem by including unique votes of Steemit Open Mic submissions in their own blog posts.
    • IT IS CRUCIAL WHEN YOU RECORD YOUR VIDEO THAT YOU SAY "STEEMIT OPEN MIC WEEK 120" AND YOUR USERNAME AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR VIDEO

    • We're looking for real live musical performances for this contest. Some people have posted old videos from YouTube and it's difficult to verify that it's really them performing. They will be disqualified from the contest.

    • If you want a chance to earn the prize, make a new video and say STEEMIT OPEN MIC Week 120 at the start of it.

    .

How To Enter Steemit Open Mic

    • In a well lit quiet room, use your cell phone to record your performance. See recording tips here and here

    • Upload your performance to YouTube or other video hosting site.

    • Create a post on your own Steemit account pasting the URL of your uploaded video.

    • IMPORTANT: THE FIRST WORDS IN YOUR POST MUST READ: STEEMIT OPEN MIC WEEK 120 before any other text in the title.

For example: STEEMIT Open Mic Week 120- Hold That Tiger by @cheetah*

    • You can title your post anything you want just be sure the first words say STEEMIT OPEN MIC WEEK 120.

    • VERY IMPORTANT: THE FIRST TAG ON YOUR POST MUST BE openmic All one word. No spaces.

    • POST THE LINK TO YOUR POST IN THE COMMENTS OF THIS POST. This will increase your exposure and votes while increasing the amount of prize money AND WILL LET US KNOW YOU HAVE ENTERED

    Judging, and Contest Prize

I got all dressed up for my Open Mic entry this week and had a lot of fun! Big thanks to @snook for prettying up my video. ;)

This is a cover: Trouble, by Shawn Colvin.

Steemit Openmic Week 120 - A song called - I don't think I ever named this song...
https://steemit.com/openmic/@thesimpson/steemit-openmic-week-120-a-song-called-i-don-t-think-i-ever-named-this-song

This song is on an upcoming release by Kelebek Evrimi this super blood moon on the 21st of this month. The recorded version features traditional instruments. It will be posted on dtube as well as archive.org for free download.

"Recent changes to dtube now require that dtube is the first tag when using dtube. to enter open mic we need openmic to be the first tag so we can upvote you with the openmic trail and include you in this weekly post of entries."

I changed it after posting it and it stayed for a while as open mic. I even got the automatic comment from Lucypher. But it changed back again on its own when I wasn't watching it. How can I keep the first tag as open mic if it always automatically changes back to dTube?

Currently dtube places its name as the first label.

It is the first tag on the dTube video post and has been for the past week. I just rechecked it. It wasn't the first tag on the steemit blog post associated with the dTube video. But this is not possible to change. So my entry has been valid.

Brother, I just showed you the clarification of @luzcypher at the beginning of the contest publication.
This has been happening for a couple of weeks.
In my case, I decided not to use dtube for my participation in openmic this week.

Ok. I'm not sure why you're mentioning it because I also posted the YouTube link.

Anyways, have a good one!

Posted using Partiko Android

Ok. I see it now. People are making separate blog posts with the YouTube link but not uploaded onto dTube.

I've learned however you can go back and change the first tag of the dTube video post on dTube to openmic and it stays. But you cannot change the tag of the blog post associated with the dTube post.

This is mighty confusing. I did the same thing last entry a couple of weeks back, it wasn't a problem.

Posted using Partiko Android

I just want to help you, brother. Only that. Good luck.

Have some free studio recorded music for your trouble, released today! 'A Delicate Procedure' by my ethno-western band Kelebek Evrimi:

yeah bro, I lke this song. Greetings

greetings @juanchez and thanks for the comment and introduction. Glad you liked it. Check my page for much more. see ya there friend, Mark

Here my entry this week, I hope at least to be named hehehe
