Red Wall Orchid

in #orchids5 years ago

Hi Steemians,
This red orchid bloomed on the Rick wall. It has a horse tail root that absorbs water from the air and rain. It survives on air, water and photosynthesis! Amazing!
Enjoy,

Orchids are known for their appearance. These are a symbol of wealth, love and prosperity. Their flowers beauty was immortalized in poems of love and affection. Regardless, it's worth noting that these wonderful plants may speak volumes about themselves during their orchid leaves too. When gaining insight to the health of your orchid it is worth talking to the leaves directly about it. Orchids are extremely dependent on light to sustain a healthful growth. Maintaining the proper amount of light is essential. Direct exposure to sunlight may be deadly causing the plants to burn, whereas too little light could be a deterrent to flowering.

Therefore, how do you know whether your orchid is getting the appropriate quantity of light? The solution is, speak to the leaves. The color of the orchid's leaves is the first index about the plants health and might also tell you about the quantity of light it is getting. A healthful orchid exhibits bright green and healthful leaves. By taking a look at the leaves of your orchid and noting its colour you may acquire ample details about the way your plant is growing. Dark green leaves suggest that the plant is devoid of light. It might be worthwhile transferring these plants nearer to a west or south window.

In case the place is obviously cloudy with insufficient sun, it'd be advisable to place fluorescent lights over the plant, as orchids are known to accommodate themselves well into these lights and grow well. This kind of colour suggests that the plant is getting an excessive amount of light. Yellow leaves can additionally be a symbol of ageing, that is a natural process. It shouldn't be a cause for concern if the older orchid leaves are turning yellow.
