A view month ago I started with oil paints. In the past I was always afraid of the solvents in oil painting mediums. But finally I get over this and ....well...here it is...my first, still unfinished oilpainting :) The different colored layers in the first stepsare supposed to give the painting more deepthin the end...so I was told ;) And as an open minded oil-newbie, I thoughtI will just check it out.

Vor ein paar Monaten habe ich angfangen, mit Ölfarbe zu malen.
In der Vergangenheit hatte immer etwas Angst vor den, in vielen Medien enthaltenen Lösemitteln. Aber letztendlich habe ich sie doch überwunden und..naja..hier ist es..mein erstes, unfertiges Ölbild :) Die verschiedenen Farbaufträge/Lasuren zu Beginn sollen dem Bild am Ende eine besondere Tiefe geben...hat man mir gesagt ;) Also offener Öl-Frischling habe ich darauf gehört und es einfach mal so gemacht.
The preliminary sketch / Die Vorzeichnung
- Layer: yellow / 1. Lasur: gelb
- White heightening / 1. Weißhöhung
- Layer: red / 2. Lasur: rot
- White heightening / 2. Weißhöhung
- Layer: blue / 3. Lasur: blau
[EN] After the blue layer I started to paint some items in the background.
[DE] Nach der Blaulasur habe ich mit ein paar Gegenständen im Hintergrund begonnen.
[EN]....and finally I dared to start to give the woman color :)
[DE]...und endlich habe ich mich getraut, der Frau zu colorieren :)

[EN] This is it so far :) Still not finished. I hope to find time in the next few weeks to finally finish it.
[DE] Das ist es bis jetzt. Immer noch nicht fertig. I hoffe, ich finde in den nächsten Wochen Zeit, es fertig zu machen.

this your first, you did well! I love the drawing you started with, very accomplished.
About the layers: they appear too strong, you need to wipe them with the palm of your hand or else also use a "Stumpa-brush" like a stencil brush (to dip off), to control them in certain areas. The sequence of colors is not right:

Bitte, gerne. Selber male ich gerade in dieser technique, aber habe es auf Acryl adaptiert.

I was so nervous when I did start with it as I didn´t draw for a longer time and, as I already wrote, never painted with oils.

Du kannst dir dein Malmeduim auch selber zusammenstellen wenn du Angst hast wegen der Lösemittel. Dann weißt du was drin ist. Gibt dir auch mehr Kontrolle über die Trocknungszeit etc.

Well done. I love oils. I paint a lot digitally now, but use digital oils and I always go back to real oils as well and it's just a wonderful medium. Wonderful and keep at it.
