I like the fact that the team behind PALNET are brave enough to address the known limits of STEEM (where Steemit looks to not care about it) and committed to make this blockchain a success. The first thing that made me considering this new idea was the fact that they stayed here on STEEM instead of making a fork as many others tried.

It was debated many times, but I think we came to the best decision possible. It's interesting because the leadership team is a collection of very different individuals and we all have pretty unique perspectives on things, but I can honestly say that we all care about doing the right thing for the community and seeing this place grow. Glad to see you here!

In the long run I feel palcoin will have a higher price than steem.

I still have 100s of questions which I can't locate any answer for. Some top Qs are:

  1. All rewards i see are multiple integers of PAL. Never seen smth like 1.45 PAL, always x.00. Why is this?
  2. Can comments collect PAL rewards too? Never seen any with PAL (even I have been upvoting many comments myself)
  3. How long it takes rewards to mature? 7 days, like for steem ?
  4. How much PAL power staked I should have to give 1.00 PAL reward for one 100% upvote ?
  5. Is each sequential upvote reducing my PAL voting power, like on steem ? How long it takes to recover? 20% per day?
  6. Does PAL upvote's rewards depend of the RC i have at that moment ?
  7. Is the any place to see how profitable my upvotes are PAL wise ?
  8. Can PAL voting power be delegated? If not, are such plans on the roadmap ?
  9. Can I purchase just 0.5 PAL, or 1.65 PAL on steem-engine ? No luck so far in this. Whole units only? Always to be so ?

There are many more questions, but those came right from the top of my head

1 Is not intentional and should be fixed within a week.

2 Yes, I'm not sure if you're vote is able to give a whole PAL or not, but I have personally awarded some PAL for comments and I think this most likely a symptom of problem 1.

3 7 days

4 That's still being determined as the reward pool fills out, but it should be getting easier every day for the next few days at least.

5 Voting on PAL affects voting mana exactly voting on STEEM does, but it only affects your PAL mana when voting on posts with the palnet tag.

6 All transactions on the STEEM blockchain require resource credits, one of the reasons for listing 60% of the initial supply as a sell wall on Steem Engine is to supply resource credits to a pool once the feature is added to STEEM.

7 Not yet that I know of, but I imagine someone will build it.

8 Not yet, but that is something Steem Engine is currently working on.

9 No, until problem 1 is addressed it's whole units only. Shouldn't be for long though.

Hey @clayboyn... How you've managed to get 30.000 PAL from @minnowsupport? Is that some sort of wage as moderator or something?

I'm not asking you this for anything in particular. It's just out of curiosity. Since I'm seeing that in order to be able to grant an entire $1.00 PAL reward through your upvote, we'll need 15.000 PAL POWER at least. Am I right? :)

I'm not thinking about anything in relation to USD, but I can tell you that the founders and moderators were granted initial stake per the white paper, which makes us the initial curators and distributors until other stake grows or people buy stake.

Thank you for your quick reply @clayboyn.

Yeah, I've read something regarding to an initial "Team Rewards" reserve with about 2.1M Palcoin that would go to moderators to be able to do their jobs. :)

However, I still wonder if we (regular pedestrians) actually will need around 15.000 PAL POWER, at least, to cast a whole rickety 1.00 PAL upvote.

It's definitely not that much, but I also think it will be much easier to gain PAL once the decimal precision is fixed. Think about how much steem power you have to have to give a whole steem. It's well into the thousands. Even with 2500 SP I think my vote is worth a whole .05-.06 USD which is about .2 STEEM or less.

Yeah, you are right mate.

I guess we'll need to wait till the decimal precision is fixed on PalNet sooner than later. Because witnessing right now that our upvotes, won't grant not even a flying damn to someone's content... seems, sounds and feel a little bit discouraging to vote. Hahahaha };)

May rains fed fertile soil. Great thoughts are born one after another. It looks like there will be a big harvest this year :-)

That's the goal. :)

Yep let them get out and the rest of us can pick up some more.

If we can end up with a better distribution than 1% of the accounts owning 99% of the tokens, I think that's progress. :)

I hope to see this venture succeed. I claimed mine and staked them and i'm going to start using the tag on all my posts. I'm right here with you, let's make this a better place than we currently have!

All it takes is enough like minded individuals that see the potential. :)

I picked another 150 PAL earlier from Steem-Engine. While people are dumping, I am trying to add to my collection.

I did appreciate the claimdrop. I guess only time will tell, but for now, let's enjoy the ride!

Clearly you get it. :)

Someone needs to send me 100k Pals just for kicks haha :)

LOL, well considering the claimdrop is out and there's plenty of people that are providing some very cheap coins, who knows, maybe you'll get lucky lol.

I have a few questions if possible. If i upvote your post on Steem...(not palnet.io) , do you also get PAL from me? (You could check with my vote).

I am here on palnet.io now and it indicates that the post is already upvoted by me, a bit confusing....

The front end doesn't matter as long as the tag is used and the person voting has stake. The palnet.io front end is a great way to find other people that are using the same tag/protocol for voting and curating, as with palnet, we specifically made curation more worthwhile so that people don't feel they have to make content. I would say just think of palnet as a second layer running over the steem you already use that only applies to posts with the tag. Essentially it's what SMTs were supposed to be.

I'm buying. What's not to like here? I don't have a huge problem with the ninja-mine, but I know others find it a real sticking point, so let's see where this ride takes us :)

My concern is more with the three years that followed the ninja mine and the lack of big accounts actually playing the "proof of brain" game and just playing the "make ourselves rich while starving out everyone else" game. I'm saying this in general, I realize there are exceptions, but when it got to the point that I couldn't honestly onboard people with a good conscience and it seems like the only reason anyone is willing to consider the changes we've been asking for since the beginning is because the community has mostly left, it felt like time to do something else. Hopefully PAL can be the "people's stimulus" or something that STEEM needs.

I kinda get it, though. Look at @budgetbucketlist.
There are a lot of lessons there. Supported hand over fist for quality posts, from the day she arrived.
She fell over herself cashing out every cent at every available opportunity. She was doing noble stuff with it, but she was wrecking the price.
It's a story which played out over and over, and the whales learned their lesson.
Rewarding quality was draining value out of the ecosystem. Maybe she was powering down and cashing out because she thought the place was a magic money factory that would last forever.
Maybe she did it because she thought Steem was a pyramid scheme, and the price would crash; when it did, maybe she patted herself on the back for her foresight.
People learn. Sometimes they learn too well. A guy arrives tomorrow and launches a Steem casino site; he's going to be underwhelmed with our enthusiasm.
Why won't they support me? Don't they understand how much value I'm bringing?
The established players just look after each other.

Agreed, I think there has to be some kind of balance. We don't have the high value without investors and we certainly don't have it without a community either. Perhaps this is just the cycle and it's going to play out over and over again. Time will tell.
