I like to think of it in those terms as well.
The intangible things like community, camraderie (especially amongst my brethren in SFR), and I've picked up many technical abilities interacting with and facing challenges on the blockchain.
Do I have a huge chunk of change to show for it? Not really. Whales and dishonest users may make gains but what they leave behind is an immutable record of shame.
Rather not have that in my chest. Things come around you know.
