Why different Steemians receiving different amounts of PAL coin as a claimdrop?

in #palnet5 years ago (edited)

I hear PAL coin is being claimdropped to every active Steemian with more than 10 SP in their account.

But not everybody is receiving the same amount of PAL coins. I claimed 2500 PAL while @partitura claimed only 306 PAL.

I've read someplace that Steemians who are more active with the community receive more PAL tokens. This might make sense. But am I 8x more active than @partitura?

I don't know. Let's check the number of posts and see if the numbers reveal something useful here.

I have total of 8591 posts and comments while @partitura has published 294 posts and comments so far.

294 x 8.8 = 2587

So if we are looking purely at the number of posts and comments then I am 8.8x more active than @partitura and so his 294 PAL coin claimdrop somewhat makes sense.

Let's check this with another example. This time with @dinglehopper. He wrote he received 278 PAL coins as a claimdrop. And he has published 2599 posts and comments so far. So I'm only 3.3 times more active than he is according to this metric.

Is there a post about this that I missed? If not, can somebody explain to the community what criteria are considered when delivering a certain amout of PAL coins to Steemians?

[EDIT: @partitura has just informed me that there is 2500 PAL max cap per user claimdrop]

Here is a list with all users that received a claimdrop https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cbCdCn7-LyIarcurn-N1_dpfAHWsAzvCE9HMiWi9n4k/edit#gid=1579377021

It depends on how much SP you have and not how active you are. Being active (I think at least one post or comment in the last 2 months) was only the requirement to be on the list. The claimdrop was capped to 2500 maximum per user.

Thanks for the information! This helps a lot...

It was based on stake and some math involving a square root. Also whales were capped so we start off with a better distribution and a more fair starting point! It is all explained in the white paper which you can read on the minnowsupport account :)

Thanks! I think it is a fair system...

Hi, my friend, @organduo.

If it helps you, I had 394 at the moment I claimed, and I have got 197 PAL tokens. Exactly the half. I think then that the rate is 0.5 PAL/STEEM POWER. But that's only my guess. I haven't compared my claimed amount with other's.

It would makes sense. And they have 2500 PAL max cap for larger accounts. Time to earn with Steem posts in at least 3 ways: SP/SBD, PAL and SNAX. And SPT if your post is about Splinterlands (formely AKA SteemMonsters).

Still a mysteries to many that haven't receive any. I guess the list is not that complete

There is no mystery: It was based on stake and some math involving a square root. Also whales were capped so we start off with a better distribution and a more fair starting point! It is all explained in the white paper which you can read on the minnowsupport account :) Activity was also factored in so people who haven;'t posted in two months were not included.

But I have been more than active in the past 2 months, why is my name not on the list. @juliakponsford

I'm not sure, it's possible you were on a blacklist? we filtered using various blacklists also. We will do a second round after the one month period , keep an eye out for the post from @minnowsupport on how to do so.

*also just an FYI I see you tagged your most recent post planet, it's palnet

Probably the system is overloaded. You will have one month to claim it.
