Fauvism: Emily Charmy - "Woman in japanese coat"
Born in France, she came from a family with good social status, however at an early age she was orphaned and with her brother went to live with relatives who welcomed them as their children. Emily Barret, received a decent education for her in a private school, from which, her creative abilities in art and music emerged, something that her family continued to feed on the talent she showed. She rubbed shoulders with colleagues like Matisse, entering the world of Fauvism, Emily turned out to be an incredible woman who made her way into the art world, being able to sustain herself financially with commissions that varied between portraits, landscapes and still lifes. Emily painted until his ninety years under the pseudonym of "Charmy".

This painting is simple but with a lot of essence, since, following the characters of Fauvism, she conceives it under her own technique. The first thing that draws my attention to this painting is the union of the background that is complemented by the ground being divided by the central elements that are glimpsed diagonally forming a visual path similar to that of the infinity symbol. As a focal point is the woman rising with character along the lines that delimit her figure resting with one leg extended towards the lower right corner, resting her arm on a blue cushion that rises in a light tone from the lower left side, as the title presents, the coat combines the harmony between all the colors found in the composition, marking green, blue, red, orange, peach brush strokes similar to the one used in the cushions positioned behind it with some elements that soften the look alluding to the print of roses.
