Yes. And I think it makes people more prone to regret in general. When we see our lives as about collecting stuff or status, we automatically put the center of power in our lives outside ourselves. That leads to an insatiable appetite for more, more, more and persistent dissatisfaction. When we see life as about enjoying our own process of becoming, we feel our true power and the peace that comes with that type of security.

I find that there are a great deal more attention seekers these days and I think it is the social media drive of popularity for mediocrity. They spend their time shouting at others and big-noting themselves with no addition of value whatsoever. i don't think these people are content in life but, the are also unwilling to actually have a look in the mirror to see the source.
