Longfellow’s translation of Dante, anyway. Those aren't Dante's words.
This article would be more interesting if it were about Italian loan-words in English.
Now that would be really cool too. But the coolest thing would be someone reading and doing side by sid comparison/review of the original with all the poetic touches and the translation.
