Tampa Bay lost to the Houston Astros 1-3 in the American League Division Series at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, for its second consecutive loss. Tampa Bay will be eliminated from the series with all three losses if they lose Game 3 at home on Tuesday.

In the second game, Choi started as the first baseman's No. 4 hitter, and went 3-for-4 with three strikeouts and one walk. Not only Choi but also Tampa Bay batters were completely crushed by the pitch of opposing starter Gerrrit. Gerrit Cole held Tampa Bay down with a scoreless 7.2 innings. He struck out as many as 15. This is a joint third-place record in postseason history.

Against Cole, Choi Ji-man struck out all three at-bats. He was ambivalent in defense. On defense in the fourth inning, he threw a ball from Yulieski Gourriel to catch it. However, he failed to catch the shortstop's throw properly in the seventh inning, and after the error, Tampa Bay added one run.

Choi Ji-man had his first on-base hit of the day with a walk in the bottom of the ninth inning when he went 0-3.
