Blockchain Expert: UAE On Course To Emerge As A Superpower In The Blockchain And Crypto Industry
Blockchain expert Gregory S Mathew propounded the view that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is on track to become a superpower in the blockchain and crypto arena in an article contribution on Coinspeaker.
Gregory's opinion is based on the below figures from a report by market intelligence platform Inwara:
In Q1 2019, funds raised through ICOs by companies based in the UAE made up 21% of the total amount raised globally.
In Q1 2019, funds raised through STOs by companies based in the UAE made up a staggering 55% of the total amount raised globally.
The UAE government also announced during the launch of its Emirates Blockchain Strategy 2021 in April 2018 that it aims to conduct 50% of all government transactions on a blockchain network by 2021, Gregory pointed out.
